To get you motivated to work on your vision
At the beginning of January, I started my year by making a vision board for myself.
One point of my morning routine is to visualize my future and my dreams. I had problems with it. I couldn’t visualize it probably. It was hard to think about it.
So I made the vision board to find pictures of how I would picture my future in 5 years. What I want to achieve. What I will be doing daily. Motivational pictures and where I will live.
I also added quotes. Quotes and affirmations motivate me. Even more than pictures I think. I’m more of a writing and reading person.
They help me motivate and think about what I want to do in life. They help me decide which path to take.
Here are the 6 quotes I think you should know and keep in mind:
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
— Wayne Gretzky
This is my favorite quote. Since I first read it a few years ago it is stuck in my head.
Gretzky was an ice hockey player. Of course, it makes sense in his case that he misses 100% of the shots he doesn’t take. But this is also true in life.
Do you regret something you wanted to do but then didn’t? You missed that because you didn’t take the shot. Maybe you were afraid, not self-confident enough or you didn’t want to disappoint someone.
How do you feel about that now? Wouldn’t you want your younger self to have taken that shot?
You are afraid of doing something. Whatever your reason. Do it anyway if you think you will regret it later.
What is the worst thing that could happen? Think about it. The worst thing that could happen is that you learned something because you failed.
Don’t be afraid of failing! You learn from mistakes and failures! That’s the worst thing that could happen!
Do it! Else the chance to miss it is 100%.
“I never lose. Either I win or learn.”
— Nelson Mandela
This is combined with the quote from Gretzky. You take the shot and you either win or learn.
If you don’t take the shot there is a 100% probability that you don’t win. You have to take the chance to be able to win.
There is a story I read that I loosely retell:
A guy prayed to the universe: “Please let me win the lottery. I need the money.”
And he prayed to the universe about that every day. At some point, the universe was angry and told the guy: “I would like you to win the lottery, but first please buy a lottery ticket.”
What do we learn from that? You should buy the lottery ticket to your dream life. Take the shot, take the risk and you will achieve what you dreamt of.
“When you follow your bliss… doors will open where you would not have thought there would be doors; and where there wouldn’t be a door for anyone else.”
— Joseph Campbell
As soon as you follow your goal and your dreams, doors will open. You talk and do your thing with passion, you infect others with your dedication. You will attract luck and opportunities.
Other people will think: you got lucky. But you know you don’t. You radiate happiness, passion, and good work, and you attract those opportunity doors.
“The thing always happens that you really believe in, and the belief in a thing makes it happen.”
— Frank Lloyd Wright
I had to add a quote from an architect too because I’m studying Architecture.
By following your goal and working to achieve your dreams you tell the universe what you want and that you are ready. The universe will make it happen. People say it’s luck or coincidence but you work towards your life vision and you believe in it and yourself, and you will make it happen.
Believe in yourself and that you can achieve your vision of life, and it will come true!
“The only person you are destined to become is… the person you decide to be.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
You decide who you want to be and who you will be. Your decision.
By knowing and believing in your life vision, you know what person you will become. There is only one important step left to do then: decide that you will be that person.
You have control over your own life. You decide which path to take. You decide how to react to someone or something. You decide who you are.
In every moment you have the control to decide who are.
“You are the master of your destiny. You can influence, direct and control your own environment. You can make your life what you want it to be.”
— Napoleon Hill
Last year the book “Think and Grow Rich” changed my life.
I changed my mindset after reading it. You can choose. You are the master of your destiny.
After the previous quotes, this one sums them all up.
You decide. You are the master of your destiny and your life. You believe in yourself. You decide to take the shot. You change your mindset based on those quotes.
You control your environment and your life by believing that you can make your life what you want it to be. By believing it you change your mindset. You believe in yourself. You know that your vision will come true.
Your mindset is the key to achieving your goals and your vision.
These quotes will help you change your mindset.
They are really important to me. Since I read the book and changed my mindset a lot of great things happened, that I never would have imagined before.
Life is full of opportunities and shots you should take!
Take the shot!
